Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Information Technology, Construction & Engineering and Diversified Holdings sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.14%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Meanwhile, SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 25.00% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.5000 and Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND) was up 25.00% or 370.40 points to 1852.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Singhe Hospitals Ltd (CM:SIGH), which fell 6.67% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.400 at the close. Sunshine Holdings PLC (CM:SUN) declined 5.41% or 3.00 points to end at 52.50 and Kotagala Plantations PLC (CM:KOTA) was down 4.49% or 0.40 points to 8.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 84 to 66 and 58 ended unchanged.
Shares in Singhe Hospitals Ltd (CM:SIGH) fell to all time lows; losing 6.67% or 0.100 to 1.400. Shares in SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) rose to 5-year lows; rising 25.00% or 0.1000 to 0.5000. Shares in Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 25.00% or 370.40 to 1852.10.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.12% or 0.08 to $69.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.47% or 0.35 to hit $74.28 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.30% or 3.70 to trade at $1228.10 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.30% to 210.430, while USD/LKR rose 0.02% to 159.590.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 94.08.
