Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Information Technology, Construction & Engineering and Investment Trust sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.10%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 100.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.2000 at the close. Meanwhile, Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) added 12.50% or 0.100 points to end at 0.900 and Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) was up 10.00% or 0.100 points to 1.100 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND), which fell 23.74% or 351.70 points to trade at 1130.00 at the close. Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) declined 8.37% or 92.30 points to end at 1010.00 and Ramboda Falls PLC (CM:RFLL) was down 8.06% or 1.70 points to 19.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 104 to 79 and 59 ended unchanged.
Shares in Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND) fell to 52-week lows; falling 23.74% or 351.70 to 1130.00.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.63% or 0.30 to $48.19 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.40% or 0.20 to hit $50.40 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.34% or 4.30 to trade at $1247.80 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.05% to 200.405, while USD/LKR rose 0.06% to 153.640.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 93.92.
