Investing.com – China stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Software & Computer Services, Technology and Travel & Leisure sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite added 4.91%, while the SZSE Component index climbed 6.45%.
The best performers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Sundy Land Inv (SS:600077), which rose 10.11% or 0.470 points to trade at 5.120 at the close. Meanwhile, Rebecca (SS:600439) added 10.10% or 0.490 points to end at 5.340 and Hongda (SS:600331) was up 10.10% or 0.530 points to 5.780 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Strong Year (SS:600291), which fell 10.01% or 2.680 points to trade at 24.080 at the close. Routon Elect (SS:600355) declined 10.01% or 1.360 points to end at 12.230 and Aerospace Elec (SS:600879) was down 10.00% or 2.450 points to 22.050.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Tianjin Jinbin Development (SZ:000897) which rose 10.13% to 4.35, Luxi Chemical Group Co Ltd (SZ:000830) which was up 10.09% to settle at 5.89 and Tongyu Heavy Industry (SZ:300185) which gained 10.08% to close at 6.55.
The worst performers were Wuhan Guide Infrared Co Ltd (SZ:002414) which was down 10.01% to 28.69 in late trade, Guangdong Advertising Co Ltd (SZ:002400) which lost 10.00% to settle at 20.61 and Renhe Pharmacy Co Ltd (SZ:000650) which was down 9.99% to 12.52 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Shanghai Stock Exchange by 943 to 11.
Shares in Guangdong Advertising Co Ltd (SZ:002400) fell to 52-week lows; losing 10.00% or 2.29 to 20.61.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was down 3.71% to 45.72.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.44% or 4.80 to $1107.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.23% or 0.55 to hit $45.14 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.88% or 0.42 to trade at $48.17 a barrel.
USD/CNY was down 0.00% to 6.3699, while EUR/CNY fell 0.13% to 7.1693.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 95.83.
